ORIGINS OF REIKI
Reiki is believed to have been rediscovered in Japan in 1922 by Mikao Usui and was brought to the West in 1937 by Hawayo Takata. The Usui system is the modality mostly practiced worldwide and is trained through an initiation process where Masters pass on their knowledge and expertise to students on different levels.
The word Reiki (pronounced Ray-Kee) comes from the Japanese word "Rei" which means Universal Life and "Ki" which means Energy. This energy is the power that acts and lives in all created matter whether organic or inorganic; people, animals, plants and rocks. Christians call this energy God, Buddhists call it Buddha, Ki is analogous to Chi in Chinese medicine, Prana in Hindu and Light in Christianity.

WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki is a therapy to heal one's Body, Mind & Soul on a physical & spiritual level. Reiki healing promotes stress reduction and relaxation, administered by a Reiki healer using life energy force to help you heal yourself. The awareness that an unseen energy flows through all living things and directly affects the quality of a person's health has been part of the wisdom of many cultures since ancient times. When your life energy is low, it is more difficult to deal with stress, you may not sleep well, and you're more susceptible to illness. When your life energy is strong, you feel strong, you are in a positive state of mind and you can more easily deal with stress, and are less likely to get sick. Reiki is a technique that increases a person's supply of life energy. In the science world they refer to this energy as biofield energy.
WHAT IS HOLY FIRE REIKI
Even though the word Holy is in the name Holy Fire it is not intended to take on any religious meaning. Holy Fire is a spiritual energy that purifies, heals and empowers guidance. Holy Fire Reiki is a a more refined energy with a higher level of consciousness that heals in a more profound way. Here are some of it's attributes:
> Releases worry, anxiety bringing the feelings of security and peace.
> When you receive this energy it does not stop when you leave your session, it continuously develops, healing as it does.
> Works continuously without thought. It's spontaneous when healing and deals with each individual issue as it shows up.
> It has been known to heal relationships & interactions with others.
> The healing process is quicker and deeper.
> Known to develop personality traits creating a healthy life for you full of peace, tranquility, unconditional love for yourself, confidence, joy, patience & kindness as well as giving you much more energy to take on life.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A SESSION
A complete Reiki session is offered to a fully clothed recipient who is lying on a treatment table or sitting comfortably in a chair. It is offered through a light, non-invasive touch with the practitioner's hands placed and held on a series of locations from the head all the way down to the feet avoiding any private areas. The placement of hands is never intrusive or inappropriate. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and soul, creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
