Tibetan Bön Buddhist Meditations & Workshops
In 2003 Rob discovered yoga, and felt its power to bring radical personal transformation and relief from suffering, physical, mental and emotional. The practices of asana, pranayama and meditation helped to heal his body from a car accident and his spirit from family related trauma. Wanting to commit more fully to the practice of yoga and to share its benefit with others, in 2007 he and his wife, Eileen, completed a 200-hour yoga teacher-training program with Sri Dharma Mittra. In that same year Rob discovered the teachings of Tibetan Bön Buddhism and began to study with lamas and monks of that tradition. Rob met Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, a lineage holder in the Bön tradition, in 2010. Tenzin Rinpoche’s teachings of Tantra and Dzogchen resonated deeply and have become the core of Rob’s practice.
As Rob’s experience and practice began to bear fruit, he found a need to spend more time in service of others. In 2014 he left his job as Chief Investment Officer for an investment firm and began to volunteer, serving Tenzin Rinpoche and his organization, Ligmincha International, on a full time basis. Karma yoga - helping and serving others by bringing spiritual practice into daily life – is now the core of his work. Teaching meditation and yoga for over a decade, Rob has a playful, warm and easily accessible style, and bringing the ancient teachings of Bön to modern people is his mission.
In addition to being certified at the 200-hour level in hatha yoga, Rob has completed a 5-year training and certificate course in Trul Khor, a Tibetan system of movement and breath, and has been authorized to teach introductory practices of the Bön tradition by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. Other teachers with whom Rob has studied and is deeply indebted are: His Holiness the 33rd Menri Trizin, Menri Lopon Rinpoche, Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche, Lama Tashi, Geshe Tenzin Yangton, Marcy Vaughn, and Alejandro Chaoul.
